Barbara E Gilbertson

Barbara Esther Gilbertson, 62, of Hillsboro, passed away November 13, 2017 at her home at the Champion House in Hillsboro.  She was born on December 20, 1954 in Sparta, to Donovan and Patricia (Olson) Gilbertson.

Barbie moved to the Champion House in March of 2006.  She liked to go on road trips with her staff and friends. Barb liked to rock and listen to music.  She had a loving extended family at the Champion House that loved and took great care of her.  Our greatest appreciation to all of them.

Barbie is survived by her sisters and brothers, Connie (Dick) Boening of Berlin; Sharon Linnehan of Sparta; Nyla Linnehan of Sparta; Luann Gaede of Eau Claire; Linda Melby of Black River Falls; Dennis (Teresa) Gilbertson of Sparta; Roy (Julie) Gilbertson of Sparta, Brian Gilbertson of Sparta; and Kevin (Deb) Gilbertson of Black River Falls.

Barbie is preceded in death by her parents, Donovan and Patricia (Olson) Gilbertson; cousins, Justin Gilbertson, and Jennifer Erickson; brother-in-law, Bruce Linnehan; and an aunt, Mary Christopherson.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of the Champion House in Hillsboro for the exceptional care given to Barbie over the years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Clyde Ewers officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Leon Cemetery.
