Denise L. Hampel

     Heaven has another angel. Denise Hampel, 49, of Sparta died in her home Saturday, February 18, 2017 with her family at her side after a long battle with cancer.  She was born December 24, 1967 in Black River Falls to Clifford and Linda Hampel (Milnthorpe).  She attended Sparta High School and held many jobs; Morrow Home CNA, Coach House and Club Oasis waitress, bartender and home healthcare provider.  In her free time she enjoyed picking wild asparagus and flowers, camping, water skiing, crocheting, bingo and slots.  Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.  Nothing made her happier than spending time with them working on crafts, baking cookies, fishing, sledding, picnicking, spending time at the beach, watersports with buckets and hoses, watching them at dance recitals or playing sports and most of all celebrating their birthdays, a chance to recall the joy she felt the day they were born.

     She is survived by her children Krystal Kogutkiewicz, Mya Langrehr, Logan Langrehr, grandchildren Karma Hasselberger and Kaydence Hasselberger, siblings, Travis Hampel (Jackie Van Kirk), Kathleen Luther, Mikel Hampel (Daniel Lintin), Jean Koll (Mike) and Wendy Clemmerson (Terry), uncle Danny Milnthorpe (Diane Jelinek), many loving nieces and nephews and Carolyn Johnson, a devoted mother figure, fishing partner and bingo and slot companion.  Denise was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. 

     There will be a celebration of life Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Eagles Club, 9901 State Hwy 21, Sparta.

     The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
