Doris M. Meyer

Doris M. Meyer, 87, of Sparta, passed away, Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. She was born at home, August 29, 1929, to the late Joseph and Palma (Paulson) Arentz.

Doris grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School. She married Kenneth Meyer on February 4, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2002. Doris was a member of the Lioness Woman’s Club and was a member of the Ladies Aid at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Sparta. She enjoyed playing cards with her card group at the Morrow Home. Above all, Doris loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her two children, Vicki (Joel) Brandau, Fond du Lac; and Daniel (Shari) Meyer, Onalaska; four grandchildren, Jackie (Ben) Dumke, Neenah; Jacob (Amy) Brandau, Westfield, IN; Amanda (Joe) Vermeulen, McFarland; and Michael Meyer, Onalaska; three great-grandchildren, Brett Dumke, Ava and Jack Brandau. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, Joseph and Palma; a son, Michael Meyer; and several brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
