Duane R. McClain

     Duane Roger McClain, 80, of Sparta, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 5, 1937 to Cleo and Evelyn (Hoelscher) McClain in Minneapolis, MN. He had two brothers, William and Dennis.

     Duane married Carol Montague on October 20, 1956 and they recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. To this union six children were born, Timothy Duane, Sandra Lee, Melinda Sue, Angela Marie, Jennifer Lynn, and Michael Duane.

     Duane lived a full life with many successes and joys.

     He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Tim (Karen), Sandy (Steve), Mindy (Oliver), Angie (Pat), Jennifer (Jorge), and Mike (Terah); his brother, Bill (Sherry); grandchildren, Tegan (Chris), Nyssa, Devin, Jaidyn, Evan, Jasper McClain, Hector and Cordilia Tierno; great grandchildren, Grace and Ethan Wise.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis.

     A Celebration of Duane’s Life will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. with a 12 noon memorial service on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Jake’s Northwoods, Sparta. Reverend Peter Augustine will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to a local charity, Duane loved his family and his community. 

     The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
