Robert “Stick” L. Stickney, 76, of Chippewa Falls, and formerly of Sparta, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls. He was born May 29, 1941 in Palmyra, Ohio. Stick moved to Kendall, WI at an early age and graduated from Royal High School with the class of 1960. He moved to Sparta in 1965 and worked at Northern Engraving for over 41 years until his retirement. Stick loved all things sports. He attended all the Sparta High School sporting events and was an umpire for women’s softball. Stick enjoyed watching Packers football and Brewers baseball.
Stick is survived by his brother, Richard H. Stickney, of Sparta; his sister, Joan Leum, of La Crosse; his nephew, Brian Leum and his daughters, Ashlee and Autumn, all of Rock Springs, WY.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Stickney.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
