Aletta J. Vian

     Aletta J. Vian, 73, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. She was born on July 21, 1945 in La Crosse to Arthur and Clara (Kwosek) Schaller. She grew up in West Salem and graduated from West Salem High School in 1963.

     Aletta married Don Vian on February 6, 1965 in Sparta. They moved to Norwalk in 1968 and lived there for 50 years. Aletta worked at Northern Engraving for 37 years and retired in 2004. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and playing Bingo.

     Aletta is survived by her husband, Don of Norwalk, children, Kerry Vian and Henry (Katie) Vian both of Norwalk; grandchildren, Brandi Vian and Chance Vian both of Onalaska;  Trevor (Allison) Saley of Holmen, Megan (Adam Polk) Saley of Tomah, and Ashley Saley of Onalaska; and great grandson; Parker; siblings, Mike (Linda) Schaller of Holmen, Art (Maxine) Schaller of Baldwin, WI, Doug (Mary) Schaller of West Salem, Randy Schaller of Baldwin, John (Marian) Schaller of Bangor, and Elizabeth Staff of Onalaska, Joanne Herbert of Florida; sister-in-law, Karen Schaller of Mindoro; and  many nieces and  nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Francis Schaller, Bill Schaller, and Mabel Conrad; and brother-in-law, Cliff Staff

     A visitation for Aletta will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday November 27, 2018 in Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery Norwalk, WI with Father Eric Berns officiating. There will be a luncheon held after at the Wilton American Legion Hall, Wilton, WI.    

      The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
