Amelia L. Pike

     Amelia L. Pike, 74, formerly of Sparta, passed away on November 24, 2018 at her home. She was born July 21, 1944 to Rudolph and Violet Reise in Rural Sparta. She graduated from Sparta High School. She later went to school for nursing. In 1970, she married the late Howard Pike Sr. They lived together on their farm in rural Sparta until his death in 1990. Amelia continued to live at the farm with her children until about 2013.

      Amelia enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at cookouts. She also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, attending tractor pulls and gardening.

     She is survived by two daughters, Amy (Norman) of Sparta and Holly (Danny) of Black River Falls; one son, Howard (Maureen) of Sparta; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Sr.; daughter Anita; and grandsons Andrew and Dakota.

    A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta, with Reverend Loretta Waughtal officiating.

    Family and friends are invited to call from 12 noon until 12:50 p.m. on Sunday at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
