Anthony E Knutson

Anthony “Tony” E. Knutson, AKA "Wheels", 50, of Sparta, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident. He was born January 7, 1969 to Eugene and Karen (Bryhn) Knutson, in La Crosse, WI.

Tony grew up in the Sparta area and graduated from Sparta High School in 1988. Following high school he attended Western Wisconsin Technical College earning an Associate’s Degree in the CNC program. He also earned a degree at Western Tech. in the Computer Diagnostics program. Tony worked for Ryan’s Computer Service in Sparta.  He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycles, and fishing. His love for music and spending time with family and friends brought him much happiness.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Mercedes (Zach Pickett) Knutson; his mother, Karen (James Cornwell) Knutson; two grandchildren, Myla and Axl; a brother, Brian (Tracy Finch) Knutson; his maternal 99 year old grandmother, Stella Bryhn;  three nieces, Brista (Josh Smith) Knutson; Alysha Knutson; and Tiffany Leszczynski (Troy Stuhr); and two nephews, Nicholas Leszczynski (Christina Jutton) and Ryan Finch. He is further survived by twelve great nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Zoey, Blake, Mason, Kaelyn, Daxton, Addison, Aisley, Beckham, Dawson, Makayla, and AveryAnn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Knutson; and special friends, Shirley and Oliver (Rocco) Omalza.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Reverend Mark Kvale officiating. Burial will be at later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

Visitation for Tony will be Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Online condolences may be offered to Tony’s family at
