Dennis B. Lambert, 69, of Sparta, passed away peacefully in the early morning on November 28, 2018 at the Morrow Home in Sparta after a long battle with diabetes. He is now in a place where he can move freely unencumbered by prosthesis or wheelchair. May his spirit soar!
Following high school Dennis attended UW Platteville and UW La Crosse. He served his country in the US Army until his honorable discharge in September of 1972. Dennis worked for the Trane Company in La Crosse until his early retirement in 2009 due to health issues. He was on the Sparta School Board for several years and was very instrumental in the building of the new middle school. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf and he loved his community. Dennis was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.
Dennis is survived by the love of his life for over 45 years, Patricia; his sons, Justin (Stacey) and Dylan (Sammy); his sisters, Mary Sue (Steven) Neumann; and Jeanne (Gordon) Button; two grandchildren, Severyn and Brandtson; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Linda) Kastberg and Dave (Beth) Kastberg; and several nieces and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Mary Lou Lambert; a brother-in-law, John Malzacher; and a great niece, Chloe Ziegler.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 1, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Pastor Glenn Kilmer officiating. Full military honors provided by VFW Post 2112 will immediately follow at the funeral home.
Visitation for Dennis will be at the funeral home on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Online condolences may be offered to the Lambert family at www.schanhoferfh.com
