Diane L. Berry

     Diane L. Berry, 64, of Cataract, died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home.  She was born on June 21, 1952 in Decorah, IA to Benjamin and Harriet (Vick) Sweet.  She grew up in Decorah and was raised by Harriet and Lester Liedahl.  She graduated from Thomas Roberts High School. She worked at Northern Engraving in Waukon, IA where she met Kenneth R. Berry. Diane married Kenneth Berry on February 27, 1971. They moved to Sparta in 1972.

     Diane worked at Rolling Hills for 33 years as a nursing and transportation aid before retiring in 2008.

     She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and baking.  Diane was a 40 year member of the Cataract Country Gals Homemakers.  She enjoyed having a good time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

     Diane was survived by her children, Tonya Sagler of Sparta and her children, Alex, Colter, and Jenah; Troy (Mandy) Berry of Sparta and their children, Steven, and Haylee; her siblings, Linda (Duane) Roney of Charles City, IA, Clifford (Paula) Sweet of Salt Lake City, UT, Elaine (Wayne) Dow of McKinney, TX, Wanda (Duane) Garden of Acme, PA, and Sharron Groh of Charles City, IA; sister-in-law, Barb (Jim) Halderman of Black River Falls; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

     Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on November 2, 2012; her son, Travis; and 2 nephews, Jeremy and Jared.

     A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at United Methodist Church in Cataract with Reverend Roberta Nowicki officiating.  Burial will be in the Cataract Cemetery.

     Family and friends are invited to call from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.  

     The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
