Donna Heuer Obituary

Donna Rae Heuer, 59, of Cataract, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 8, 1958 in Sparta. Donna married Timothy Heuer on June 25, 1983 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Sparta.

Donna worked for the Federal Government and retired in September 2013from the VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI after 36 years of service. She was a dedicated and loyal employee and was very proud of the work she accomplished. Donna was the Administrative Officer in Medicine Service and worked directly with the providers. She was instrumental in the design, construction and decorating of the new Primary Care Clinic at the VA. When asked about her work at the VA she always stated that the project was very important to her and she was proud of the outcome. After retirement she enjoyed cleaning homes and became good friends with many of the people she worked for. Donna was also the clerk for the Township of Little Falls for 25 years.

Donna loved to travel with her sisters and mother. Some of their trips include New York City, Branson, MO and Las Vegas. She also loved to go antique shopping. Donna’s home is a display of the items she loved to collect and antique pieces she received from her mother and her husband’s mother and grandmother. They were always planning their next shopping trip.

Donna liked to go canoeing on the Black River with family and friends. She loved to cook for family and friends at gatherings. Above all, she loved to spend time with her grandson, Landon. She was the best grandma ever. She would always get a souvenir for Landon in her travels.

Donna is survived by her husband, Tim Heuer; a son, Adam Heuer; grandson, Landon Heuer; mother, Marion Brown; her three sisters, Barb (Dale) Martin; Dianne (Dennis) Martin; and Jo (Jerry) Brinks. She is further survived by her four sisters-in-law, Brenda (Dean) Heuer, Cheri (Mike) Timm, Diane (Larry) Klinkenberg; and Jill (Tom) Bever; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; an infant sister; maternal and paternal grandparents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce and Russell Heuer; and three brothers-in-law.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 15 at Faith Lutheran Church, N6598 County Road A, Black River Falls, with Reverend Joel Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Printz Creek Cemetery, Rural Cataract.

Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Sparta Area Cancer Support (SACS).

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse and Rochester. They would especially like to thank Dr. Paula Gill for her guidance over the past several months and to all the family and friends who have given their love and support.
