Donna E. Schurz

Donna E. Schurz, 80, of Sparta, died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. She was born in Wauzeka, WI, September 10, 1936 to the late Archie and Agnes (Konichek) Schurz.

Donna grew up in the Wauzeka area and graduated from Wauzeka High School in 1954. She was the senior class president and valedictorian.  She graduated from Madison Business College in 1956. While in Madison, Donna worked for the Neuendorf Transportation Company. She was employed by the city of Lacrosse from 1966-1986 as a legal secretary. In the spring of 1986, Donna moved to Prairie du Chien to live with and care for her father until his death. She worked for the Prairie du Chien Opportunity Center for many years. In 2011 Donna moved to Sparta to live near the Blazek family. She was very charitable donating to many different charities throughout the years. Donna loved animals, especially her dog Frisky. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Agnes.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 26, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Interment will be in Wauzeka Cemetery, Wauzeka.
