Faye E Mannel

     Faye Elizabeth (Kirchner) Mannel age 96 passed away on 17 November 2017.  She was born in Bangor, Wisconsin to Ward and Marie (Losching) Kirchner on July 1st, 1921.

     Faye attended the Bangor Schools and graduated from Bangor High in 1939.  She married Robert (Pete) W. Mannel of Norwalk, WI. on June 29, 1940 in Waukon, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.  They resided in Sparta, WI. and had 62 ½ happy years together. They enjoyed camping and traveling.  Her favorite pastimes were reading, watching the birds and squirrels on her backyard feeders and cheering on her Packers and Brewers.  She enjoyed having family and friends stop by for coffee.

     Faye worked at several jobs and retired from Decomat in Sparta, WI.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW & Ruth Circle.

     Faye is survived by three sons, Richard, Douglas (Pam) and David (Mei); two grandsons, Jay (Tricia) Mannel and Justin Mannel;  three granddaughters, Kristeen Berendes, Katie (Justin) Gard and Kelly (Jason) Sanford; three step-grandsons, Darren (Sara) Schauf, Chad (Keri) Schauf and Brian (Katie) Schauf; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.  She was “Grandma Faye” to all of them. She is further survived by two sisters-in-Law, Helen (Mannel) Noffke and Kathryn Kirchner; and many nieces and nephews.

     Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, four sisters, Chloe, Joyce, Mona and Joan, four brothers, Norman, Robert, Ward Jr. and Marlin.  Additionally, two sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Doris Kirchner; two nephews  ,John Kirchner and Gary Noffke, five brothers-in-Law Robert Allen, Carl Wright, Robert Young, Henry Shelton and Don Strait.

     A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, November 24, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Online condolences may be offered to the Mannel family at www.schanhoferfh.com.
