Glenda F. Arnold

Glenda F. (Adams) Arnold, 74, of Sparta, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at her home. She was born to the late Clyde and Anna (Bryant) Adams in Zion, IL.

At an early age Glenda moved to the Sparta area where she graduated from Sparta High School. She married Joseph Arnold on August 20, 1965 in Winona, MN. Glenda worked at the Sparta Brush Co. for over 21 years. Shortly after being partially retired, Glenda and Joe took over Southside Tap Bar & Grill in 1993. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Glenda is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Joe Arnold, of Sparta; her two children, Paul Arnold; and Nan (Brad) Olson, both of Sparta; her four grandchildren, Dustin (Lynnsey) Olson, of La Crosse; Brandon Arnold; Brittany Olson; and Bethany Arnold, all of Sparta. She is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Alexie and Chase Olson, of La Crosse; three brothers, Bill Adams, Larry Adams, and Donald Adams; a brother-in-law, David (Holly) Arnold; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Anna; two sisters, Patricia Hopkins and Cheryl Rhodes; sisters-in-law Marge Adams, Delores Adams, and Joanne Adams.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Chaplin Priscilla Hemmersbach officiating. Burial will be at a later time in Leon Cemetery.
