Harry Frederick Caulum Sr., 89, of rural Bangor, was called to his heavenly home on July 2, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Sparta.
Harry was born on February 3, 1929, to Clarence and Eleonora (Hesse) Caulum in Barre Mills, WI. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church, and later graduated from West Salem High School in 1947. He was united in marriage to Elnora M. Gates on April 23, 1949 and a lifetime of love and dedication followed. They moved to Bells Coulee in 1954 to farm and raise their five children. In addition to farming, Harry hauled canned and then bulk milk to the Mindoro CO-OP Creamery for over 35 years. He was a member of Bells Coulee Lutheran Church for over 60 years, and enjoyed serving in many roles there through the years.
Harry is survived by his loving wife of 69 years and their children, Harry Jr. (Ellen) of Bangor, Pam (Tom) Powers of Holmen, Dan of Taylor, Gary of Sparta, and Todd (Carol) of Bangor. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard (Barbara) Caulum; sisters, Caroline Caulum, Marcella (Sylvester) Marking, and Dorothy Severson; along with many nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous other friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Eugene; and brother-in-law, LeeRoy Severson.
The family would like to thank all of the staff throughout the Mayo Healthcare System, in La Crosse, Onalaska, and Sparta for their wonderful care and attention.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Bells Coulee Lutheran Church, rural Bangor. Burial will be in Burns Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church.
The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
