Jerry A Oyer, 65, of Sparta, died Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home. He was born in La Crosse on December 18, 1953 to the late William and Irene (Cordes) Oyer. Jerry grew up in the La Crosse area and attended school in La Crosse. He worked for Shifters Salvage Yard for many years. Jerry loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Oyer; children, Kim (James) St. Sauver, of Washington; Jenny Oyer, of La Crosse; and Missy (Bruce) Williams, of Norwalk; his step-children, Loretta Hopkins, of Tomah and Richard (Heather) Hopkins, of Holmen. He is further survived by 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Oyer, Cindy Oyer, William Oyer, Ruth Vian, Nancy, and Ruth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene Oyer; brothers, Charles and John Oyer; sisters, Florence Reynolds and Betty Ziegler.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, February 4, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. A graveside service will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Township of Clinton. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.schanhfoerfh.com.
