Joanne A. Olson

     Joanne A. Olson, 87, of Sparta, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse.  She was born on February 21, 1931 in Sparta to Walter "Scott" and Marie (Ripley) Hendersin.  She grew up in Farmers Valley and graduated from Sparta High School.

     Joanne married Robert C. Olson on October 6, 1949 in Waukon, IA.  They lived in Monroe, WI for a year before moving back to Sparta.  She drove school bus for the school district for 20 years.  She was a Charter member of Sparta Eagles Auxillary and a member of the American Legion Post 100 Auxillary.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, camping trips, and spending time with her dear friends.

     Joanne is survived by her husband, Robert of Sparta; her children, Kathy (Randy) Harris, Linda (Tim) Caucutt, Robert M. (Tracy) Olson all of Sparta; her grandchildren Chadrec Harris, Shannon Harris, McKenzie Olson, Jacque Olson, Veronica Olson, Sundara Keyser; great grandchildren, Logan Harris, Marissa Harris, Sheri Scudieri and Frank Scudieri.  Great great grandchildren, Brandon Borreson, Aubrey Borreson, Deven Keyser, MaKayla Keyser and many more relatives.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Lucas Jorgenson; her siblings, Ellwood Hendersin, Wendell Hendersin, Betty Spencer, Nancy Verken, and Robert Hendersin.

     A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Chaplin Priscilla Hemmersbach officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

     Memorials may be directed to the Sparta United Methodist Church and/or the AS/AP Cat Shelter, Sparta.

     The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
