Karin A. Steel

Karin A. Steel, 60, of Cadott, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at REM Wisconsin Adult Group Home, Cadott. She was born November 1, 1956 to Marshall and Delores (Rasmussen) Steel in Sparta, WI. At a young age, Karin developed an illness that required 24 hour care. Karin spent time at the Northern Colony in Chippewa Falls and in 1995 she was moved to the Adult Group Home in Cadott until her passing. Karin loved to be outside and enjoyed car rides. She was a special lady and will be missed.

Karin is survived by her brothers, Ronald Steel, of La Crosse; Jeff (Deb) Steel, of Reedsburg; and her sister, Linda (Dan) Baumbach, of Appleton. She is further survived by an aunt & uncle, cousins, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Delores Steel; paternal grandparents, Frederick and Adele Steel; maternal grandparents, Paul and Florence Rasmussen; and her great grandmother, Anna Santjer.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta, with Rev. Rey Diaz officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home from 10-10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be offered to Karin’s family at www.schanhoferfh.com.
