Lloyd H Rhodes

     Lloyd Henry Rhodes, age 84, passed away peacefully September 25, 2019 after a short battle with cancer.  He was born June 2, 1935 in Town of Caledonia – Trempealeau County, Wisconsin to Benjamin and Bernice Rhodes.

     Due to the untimely death of his father, Lloyd was raised by his Grandfather and Grandmother, Oliver and Lenora Rhodes, with the help of his Aunt Mildred (Rhodes) McIntire, and Uncle Henry Rhodes.  He was married to his bride, Shirley (Cronk) Rhodes, for nearly 58 years.  Lloyd was an Army veteran serving in peacetime Germany.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his son John.

     Lloyd was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife, Shirley; and six children, David (Cheryl) Rhodes; LeRoy (Lisa) Rhodes; Lynn (Steve) Ray; Debbie (Chris) Huber; Duane (Mary) Rhodes; and Craig (Linda) Rhodes; twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren to date.  He will be greatly missed by us all. 

     Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, September 29th, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, 106 W. Franklin St., Sparta, WI and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Online condolences may be offered to the Rhodes family at www.schanhoferfh.com. 

    A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 30, at New Life Assembly of God Church, Sparta, WI, followed by a luncheon. Burial with military honors will be at the French Island Cemetery, Lakeshore Dr, adjacent to the airport, La Crosse, WI.

   The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
