Lois A. (Clemmerson) Hughes

     Lois A. Hughes, 80, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls, WI with her son by her side. She was born on December 7, 1938 to Oscar and Elsie (Bratz) Clemmerson. She grew up and lived her life in the Cataract area. She helped support her family by factory work, supper club cook, and in-home daycare.

     On July 27, 1968, Lois married Jim Hughes. To this union, they had one son, Eric. Lois enjoyed spending time with family and her daily walks around Cataract.

     Lois is survived by her son, Eric and his wife, Linda (McLees) Hughes; grandson, Shelton Hughes; step granddaughter, Kessa Hughes; three great grandchildren; sisters, Rebecca Shafer and Donna (Frank) Rowlee; brothers, Donnie (Victoria) Clemmerson and Bob Clemmerson; sisters-in-law, Fern Clemmerson, Darlene Clemmerson, and Ethel Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim on September 16, 2017; brothers, Ronald, Daniel, Aaron, Simon, Doug, Sam, and Peter; sisters, Barbara Clemmerson and Elizabeth Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Judy Clemmerson, Luverne Clemmerson, Johnny Hughes, Florence and Reinhardt Sommers, and Ellen and George Farrington.

     A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Burial will be in Cataract Cemetery, Cataract.

     Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home from.
