Michael George Jorgensen, 64, of Sparta, and formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, FL. He was born on July 30, 1953 to Donald and Mary (McKernan) Jorgensen in Milwaukee, WI.
Michael lived in Milwaukee most of his life before moving to Sparta approximately 6 years ago. He worked at the Brady Printing Co. for over 30 years until his retirement. Michael enjoyed golfing, biking (especially the Elroy-Sparta State Bike Trail), vacationing in Florida, and visiting with people. If there was food and fellowship, Michael was there! He loved to talk about the weather and could tell you the 10 day extended forecast almost anywhere in the US. Michael’s faith life was very important to him and provided much comfort to him.
Michael is survived by his three sisters, Kathy (Brian) Kramschuster; Karen (Rick) Winters; and Sandy (David) Burns; his uncle Homer Evenstad; 8 nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary; and an infant sister, Patricia.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, 106 W. Franklin St., Sparta, with Reverend Brian Young officiating. Burial will follow in Farmers Valley Cemetery, Rural Sparta.
Visitation for Michael will be on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Online condolences may be offered to Michael’s family at www.schanhoferfh.com.
