Michael C. Tucker, 70, of Sparta, died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at his home. He was born January 11, 1949 to Chester J. and Mabel F. (Johnson) Tucker in Sparta.
Mike grew up in the Sparta area and graduated from Sparta High School with the class of 1967. Following high school he moved to Wyoming to work construction. Mike moved back to the Sparta area in 1988 and started a siding business and kept the family farm going working it until 2014. He also worked for the Sparta school system as a custodian until his retirement.
Mike enjoyed outdoor activities such as biking, golfing, fishing, and in his early years gun deer hunting with family. He liked to dabble in making his own micro brews and wines. Mike enjoyed traveling out west to visit with his friends and spending time with his great niece and nephews.
Mike is survived by his brother, Steven (Jane) Tucker; “sister” Bonnie (Don) Burnham; nephews, Todd (Michelle) Tucker and their son Gabriel; and Nathan (Amanda) Tucker and their children, Nora and Elijah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mabel.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 1, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Jim Edwards and Darlene Pohl officiating. Burial will be at later time in Big Creek Union Cemetery, Rural Sparta.
