Paul "Paulie" M Hoffman

     Paul “Paulie” Michael Hoffman, 42, of Sparta, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, December 9, 2019. 

     He was born in Cudahy, Wisconsin, on March 28, 1977, to Robert “Bob” and LuAnn Hoffman.  He grew up in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, graduating from Oak Creek High School.  He managed the Ryan Road Hardees for several years, before relocating to La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 2000. Here he met his life partner, Ricky, and they would spend the next nearly 20 years together.  In 2005 the couple moved to Sparta, Wisconsin, becoming jointly employed with Mathew’s Mfg., for 10 years.   Paul left and began working at Southside Saloon and transferring later to Club 16 and The Hangout.  Paul’s magnetism made him a perfect match for the service/hospitality industry.  If you met him, you were only a stranger once.   He would always remember a face (or at least what you drank). Paul will be remembered for his beautiful eyes, contagious laugh and his ability to dance, and would talk anyone into dancing with him.   He also had the ability to talk to anyone, and often would.

     Paul is survived by his true loves, his border collies, Andy and Ayjeigh: his partner, Ricky Rasmussen of Sparta; step-son, Ryan Rasmussen (Taylor) of Onalaska Wis., step-grandson, Lincoln Rasmussen; mother and step-father, LuAnn (Sobek) and Gary Hey of Oak Creek, Wis.; brother, Ryan Hoffman of Oak Creek; step-sister, Tracy Hey of Sacramento, Calif.; step-brother, Robert “Bob” Hey of St. Petersburg Fla.; nephew, Maxwell Hey; nieces, Rae Lynn Hoffman and Eden Hey; special friends, Annette and Bill Farrell and Lisa (LaBarre) Zebell.

     He was predeceased by his father Robert Hoffman; maternal grandparents, Keith and Artyce Sobek; and paternal grandparents, Vernal and Martha Hoffman.

     A prayer service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Reverend Randy Williamson will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, rural Taylor, Wis. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m., until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials.
