Peter J Clemmerson

Peter J. Clemmerson, 83, of Little Falls, died Friday, March 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 26, 1935 to the late Oscar and Elsie (Bratz) Clemmerson in Sparta.

Peter was raised on the family farm in Printz Creek. He left home and went to Kenosha and worked for Goodyear Tire Co. After an injury, he moved back to Cataract where he met and married the love of his life Darlene Johnson on July 25, 1959. They moved to Chicago for a short time and then back to Kenosha where he worked for American Motors until 1969.

While living in Kenosha, Peter and Darlene had three children, Terry, Todd, and Tammy. Peter always wanted to drive semi, and began driving for Beaver Transport until they went out of business. In 1976, they built a house on his grandpa Clemmerson’s land in Little Falls. At this time he worked for Transport America until his retirement in 2008. Peter enjoyed woodworking and painting and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Darlene, of Sparta; his two sons, Terry (Wendy) Clemmerson and Todd Clemmerson, both of Sparta; a daughter, Tammy Clemmerson, of Sparta; his grandchildren, Dan (Sarah) Cole; Aaron (Jessica) Clemmerson, both of Sparta; and NiCole (Cole) Wittwer, of Holmen; and his great-grandchildren, Haley and Payton Cole and Grady Clemmerson. He is further survived by his sisters, Beccy Shafer, of Sparta; Lois Hughes; and Donna (Frank) Rowlee, both of Black River Falls; and a brother, Bob Clemmerson, of Merrillan; and many nieces nephews and a special cousin, Marce.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Elsie; brothers, Ronald, Daniel, Aaron, Simon, and Doug; and sisters, Barbara Clemmerson and Elizabeth Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 16, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Roberta Nowicki officiating. . Burial will be a later time in Cataract Cemetery.
