Philip C. Davis Jr., 76, of Sparta, passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 5, 2018, at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 13, 1942 to Elizabeth R. Davis and Philip Davis Sr. in Sparta. Philip married Paulette Allred on August 11, 1962 they were blessed with three wonderful children.
He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1961-1965. Following the service, he worked for the State of Wisconsin at the Child Center in Sparta and the University of Wisconsin La Crosse at the Physical Plant until his retirement. Philip enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Paulette Davis; three children, Beth (Lisa) Davis, Dale (Amy) Davis, and Patti (Randy) Domnie. He is further survived by four grandchildren, Austin, Cameron, and Alex Bever, and Sydney Davis; three step grandchildren, Brandyn, Brett, and Kelsey Domnie; and many relatives and special friends.
A celebration of Philip’s life will be held on his 56th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 11, at 3 P.M. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sparta, with Reverend Peter Augustine and Deacon Jo Glasser officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by American Legion Post 52, will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta, following the luncheon.
Family and friends are invited to call from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Episcopal Church in lieu of flowers.
