Richard H. Stickney, 74, of Sparta, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Bethany Riverside, La Crosse. He was born on November 9, 1943 in Nekoosa, WI to Robert L. and Mildred (Friske) Stickney. He graduated from Kendall High School in 1962.
Richard worked at Tillman’s in Kendall, WI before moving to Sparta in 1965. He worked at Country Kitchen and then worked at Rolling Hills for over 30 years as a CNA. Richard loved the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Indianapolis Colts.
Richard wanted to thank his sister, Joan, Gundersen Health System, 6th floor staff, Bethany Riverside, and Union National Bank.
Richard is survived by his sister, Joan Leum, of La Crosse; his nephew, Brian Leum and his daughters, Ashlee and Autumn, all of Page, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Stickney and his brother, Robert “Stick.”
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. John's Ev Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Reverend John Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Ev Lutheran Church in Sparta. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
