Robert “Bob” B. Abbott, 77, of Cataract, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home. He was born October 1, 1939 to Wilson and Gladys (Millard) Abbott in Sparta, WI. Bob enjoyed watching Green Bay Packers football and NASCAR. He was a roofer for most of his life working for several different contractors. After his retirement, he worked for Habelman Brothers Cranberries.
Bob is survived by his life partner, Sharon Chandler; his children, Greg Abbott; Kenny Abbott; Lorri Abbott; Brian Abbott; and Mark Abbott; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings, Phillip Abbott; Ellen Flood; Joe Abbott; and John Abbott; and his faithful dog, Shadow.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Wilson and Gladys; a son, Kevin Abbott; brothers, Dwight, Howard, Daniel, Paul, David and Nelson; and a sister, Mildred Young.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, at Cataract Cemetery. Immediately following, there will be a luncheon at the United Methodist Church in Cataract. Online condolences may be offered to Bob’s family at www.schanhoferfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
