Rose A. Blazek, 82, of Thomasville, GA and formerly of Sparta, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at her home.
She was born on May 28, 1936 in Dorchester, WI to Lars and Edith (Stockwell) Skilbred. She grew up in Dorchester and moved to Camp Douglas when she was in High School.
Rose worked at Sears in Chicago and A.C. Nielsen in Evanston, IL. She married Harold Blazek on January 20, 1962 in Evanston. They moved to Sparta in 1962 and she was a stay at home mother who raised her family. She then owned Blazek Monogramming and specialized in Army tags for fatigues during Desert Storm.
Rose enjoyed gardening, playing piano, and singing. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her children, Laurie (Monte) Ott of Thomasville, GA, Lonnie (Gordon) Crosson of Cottage Grove, WI, Bruce Blazek of Sparta, Linda Blazek of Thomasville, GA, LaVonne (Dan) Smith of Edgerton, WI, and Richard (Gina) Blazek of Sparta; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; and her sister, Hilda Skilbred.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; her son, Brian; 4 brothers; and 6 sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Glenwood Cemetery, rural Dallas, WI.
Family and friends are invited to call from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
