Sharon C. Chandler

     Sharon C. Chandler, 76, of Cataract, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Mayo Health System, Sparta. She was born on March 13, 1941 in Sparta to Louis and Laura (Kelley) Wilcox. She grew up in Sparta.

     Sharon married Frank “Bud” Chandler in 1959. They later divorced. She then met her life partner, Robert Abbott. Bob passed away in July of 2017.

     Sharon worked at Spartek in Sparta until she retired in 2007. She enjoyed collecting bears, watching the Green Bay Packers, playing cards, and spending time with her dog, Shadow. She was a member of the Cataract United Methodist Church.

     Sharon is survived by her children, Randy Chandler of Zwolle, LA, Laurel (Ed) Seagrist of Owatonna, MN, and Todd Chandler of Endeavor, WI; two grandchildren, Aaron (Amber) Seagrist of Owatonna and Julia Seagrist of Ankeny, IA; two great grandchildren, Aidan and Abigail; her siblings, Ted (Bergene) Wilcox of Sparta, Juanita (fiancé, Herman Zillmer) Wingfield of Janesville, WI, and Phillip (Sue) Wilcox of Belvidere, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Glen; her granddaughter, Bethany; her life partner, Robert Abbott; and sisters, Theo Marshall, Wanda Cairns, and Corol Wilcox.

     A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Cataract United Methodist Church with Reverend Roberta Nowicki officiating. Burial will be in Cataract Cemetery.

     Family and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the church. 

     The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
