Sidney M. Helgesen

     Sidney M. Helgesen, 77, of Sparta, died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, WI.  He was born on February 20, 1940 to Floyd and Helen (Johnson) Helgesen.

     Sidney is survived by his wife, Beth Helgesen of Sparta; his children: Annette (Eric) Matson of Sparta, Lori Endres of Portland, OR, and Sidney (Sharon) Helgesen Jr. of Tigard, OR; stepsons, James (Diane) Brohmer of Cornelius, OR, Dennis (Jill) Brohmer of Marinette, WI, and Rick (Paulina) Brohmer of Taiwan; grandchildren, Harley, Willow, Dustin, Hope, Samantha, Nicole, Rick, Lindsay, Brittany, Kayla, Jesse, Natalie, Brian, Michael, Suraya, Michelle, and Becky; 13 great grandchildren; his mother, Helen Helgesen; a sister, Leslea (James) Rapp of Sheridan, WY; one niece; one nephew; and many friends, including special friends, Dave Shaw and Blanche Helgesen.

     Sidney was preceded in death by his father, Floyd on June 29, 2001; and a grandson, Loren Endres in 1984.

     A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Leon Community Center, Leon. A private family burial will be held at a later time.
