Susan Lynn Zillmer

Susan “Susie” L. Zillmer, 55, of Sparta, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System, La Crosse. She was born July 20, 1962 in Kenosha, WI to the late Leland and Blanche (Wesley) Fanning. 

Sue moved to Cataract in 1972. She married Rick Zillmer August 28, 1982 in Sparta, WI. Sue was a caregiver for over 28 years. She took over Time for Ease assisted living facility in 2005. Sue enjoyed gardening and her flower beds. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and the residents at Time For Ease. 

Sue is survived by her husband, Rick; her 3 children, Heather (Scott Mlsna) Zillmer; Ryan (Jody) Zillmer; and Leah Zillmer; 8 grandchildren: Sierra, Zech, Akira, Keenan, Jesslyn, Paige, Kye, and Harper. She is further survived by her siblings, Sharon K. (Jim) Edwards; Michael C. (Jeanine) Fanning; Shelby J. Fanning; and Stepheny A. Fanning; a brother in law, Al Weisenbeck and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland J. and Blanche I. Fanning; siblings, Leo D. Fanning; Sandra L. Rassmussen; Leland B. Fanning; and Sheila M. Weisenbeck. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 6p.m. on Thursday, September 28, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Rev. Bob Streeter officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Cataract Cemetery, Cataract. 

Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, from 3 p.m. until the time of services. Online condolences may be offered to the Zillmer family at www.schanhoferfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
