Timothy “Tim” D. Hogan, 59, of Portage, WI, and formerly of Sparta, died Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Rivers Assisted Living, Portage. He was born October 17, 1959, in Portland, OR, to Edward E. and Lois A. (Solberg) Hogan.
In 1963, he moved to Sparta and was a 1978 graduate of Sparta High School. Tim moved to Eau Claire, WI after high school where he attended UW-Eau Claire and then moved Chicago, IL, where he was the drummer for the Messy Dates Band.
Tim began playing the drums at age ten and never quit. He spent some time in Las Vegas, NV, where he met Tamara Robinson and they were together for 28 years. Together they had a son, Phillip. Tim lived in Palm Bay, FL, and then Baraboo, WI. In 2015, he became a resident at the Rivers of Portage. Tim enjoyed playing drums, golfing, and spending time at the beach.
Survivors include his mother, Lois of Sparta; sisters, Teri (Steve) Mortier of Merritt lsland, FL, and Tonya Hogan of Baraboo; son, Phillip Robinson of Baraboo; life partner, Tamara Robinson of Las Vegas; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Ed in 1996 and his brother, Troy in 2005.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Rev. Randy Larson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.
Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday, and from 10 a.m., until the time of service, Tuesday, both at the funeral home.
