Verlyn G. Anderson

Verlyn Gene Anderson, 75, of Sparta, died Monday, September 17, 2018 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. He was born September 29, 1942 to Otis and Elverda (Hanson) Anderson.

Verlyn graduated from Sparta High School with the class of 1960. He worked odd jobs until he started farming in Mindoro and Cataract. After farming, he opened up Andy’s Resale store in Sparta. Verlyn especially loved traveling and made trips to California, Norway, Alaska, and the Bahamas.

Verlyn is survived by his children, Shane (Chrystal) Anderson and family, of De Soto, WI; Sandy Novak and her family, of West Salem; Stacy Blackert and her daughter, Kaylee Blackert, of Sparta; Scott Anderson; Sheryl Hardie; a brother-in-law, Roger Clements, of Sparta; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Anderson, of Sparta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Elverda Anderson; a brother, Verdell Anderson; and a sister, Vernita Clements.

A celebration of life will be held at Verlyn’s home on Saturday, September 22, from 2-6 p.m. The family asks to please bring any pictures you may have to help with the sharing of memories. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
