William "Bill" Dunston Obituary

     

     William “Bill” Dunston, 59, of Sparta, passed away, Friday, November 22, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

     He was born July 20, 1960, in Pontiac, Mich., to William G. Dunston and Shirley Retzlaff. Bill moved to Sparta after college and began working as a tool and die maker; first for Quality Tool and then for RBI, both in Sparta. He married Dawn Eller and together they enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino (their Sunday morning ritual), playing cribbage, but mostly just spending time together. Bill was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman; especially hunting. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

     Survivors include his wife, Dawn; two step sons: Jonathon (Erin) Eller and their children, Zachery and Chloe; and Joe Eller; mother, Shirley Retzlaff; two sisters, Vikki (Dave) Robokoff and Judi Dunston (Dan Switz); nephews, Adam (Jenny) Cappelle and their son, Wyatt, and Brandon (Heather) Switz and their sons, Noah and Ben; niece, Angie Switz; Dawn’s loving family; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

     Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Dunston and step-father, Bud Retzlaff.

     A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m., until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the Waupaca VFW, Waupaca, Wis. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.schanhoferfh.com
