Alan J. Stockel, of Sparta passed away January 17, 2025, at Our Town Assisted Living in Tomah, WI, after suffering from Dementia for several years.
He was born in Cashton Wisconsin, and spent most of his life in Sparta, Wisconsin. He graduated from Sparta Senior High School.
Alan entered the Army after school and spent his tour of duty in Hawaii where he enjoyed living and working during his service years. After returning he spent the rest of his life doing factory work in and around the area. Al spent many hours playing tennis or riding the golf cart at courses around the area with his great nephew Damian, and taking weekend trips around the state.
Al is survived by sisters, Lavonne (Joe) Rivers, Kay (Alan) Austin, Mary Stockel; brothers, Thomas (Bonnie) Stockel, Donald Stockel (Nancy), Vincent Stockel, Russell Stockel, Rodney Stockel, and Frank Stockel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alice and Valery Stockel; brothers, David and Dale Stockel; and sister Virginia Wiblin.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. A luncheon will be provided after the service at Frank’s house.
