Alice M. Haeffner

      Alice M. Haeffner, 92, of Sparta and formerly of Tripp, SD, died Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. She was born on September 1, 1928, to Emil Schneider and Mary Weiderich in South Dakota. She grew up in Bon Homme County in South Dakota and graduated from Tripp High School.

     Alice married Eldon Haeffner in Tripp, South Dakota. After marriage, they farmed south of Tripp. When they retired, they sold their livestock and wintered in Arizona where they enjoyed golfing. Eldon passed away in 1993. Alice moved to Sparta in 2016 to be closer to family.

     Alice enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, and local high school sports. She volunteered at the Tripp Public Library and Friedens Reformed United Church of Christ Church in Tripp.

     Alice is survived by her daughter, Susan Rauscher of Sparta; grandchildren, Marc Rauscher, Anne (Rick) Hansen, Katie (Greg) Hansen all from Sparta; great grandchildren, Dacia (Bronson) Woodworth, Rachel Hansen, Rorie Marx, Drew Marx, Caden Hansen, and Sam Hansen; step great grandchildren, Brady Hansen and Dylan Hansen all of Sparta; and sister, Lucille Eisenbraun of Sioux Falls, SD.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldon; and brothers, Donald, Eldon, and Duwayne.
