Anita K. Giraud

Anita K. Giraud, 77, of Sparta, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at her home. She was born on November 29, 1943 in Sparta to Herman and Alice (Carr) Schanhofer. 

Anita married Sherwin Giraud on November 18, 1961. They lived on their farm just north of Sparta. They built their new house next to the farm in 1994. Sherwin passed away May 26, 2017. 

Anita worked at Wal-Mart, Jubilee Foods, and Mike’s TV and Appliance. She loved to read a good book, she enjoyed her trips to Florida, going to the casino, and she looked forward to spending time at her daughter’s cabin with family.

Anita is survived by her children, Lisa Gordon of Onalaska and her children, Ashlee (Kellen) and Dustin; Debra (Dale) Brandt of Cataract and their children, Jordan and Jacob (Chelsea); Randy (Stacie) Giraud of Sparta and their children, Nick (Kelsey), Schannel, Randall (Mariah), and Alex; her three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Kalli and Griffin; sisters, Marilyn Randolph (Bob Bruns) of Tomah and Jeanette Andringa of Sparta; very close friend, Jim Tripp; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sherwin; son-in-law Todd; siblings, Donald, Ted, John, Robert, Mike, Sally, Jo “Marjorie”, and infant brother, Patrick; sisters-in-law, Ronnie, Fran, Bonnie, and Joan; brothers-in-law, Wayne, Ray, and Lauren.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta.
