Ardel L. (Brockman) Lakowske

Ardel L.  (Brockman) Lakowske was born on May 29, 1938 to Samuel and Electa (Shaw) Brockman, in Sparta. She attended Rockland and Sparta area schools.

Ardel married Victor Lakowske on January 20, 1968 in Sparta, and gained 3 step-children.  She was a homemaker, a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, and Community of Christ. She also taught Sunday school and enjoyed doing crafts and reading.  

Ardel passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 10 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Electa Brockman; husband, Victor Lakowske, who passed away in 2005; siblings, Otto, Samuel, John; step-son, Stuart Lakowske; nephew, Brian Pohl; brother-in-law, Wally Pohl; sister-in-law, Karen Brockman; and many other aunts and uncles.

Ardel is survived by her step-daughter, Vicki (Nick) Wener of MO; step-son, Kevin (Margie) Lakowske of Sparta; grandchildren, Dustin (Teresa) Lakowske, and Areanna (Max Brice) Lakowske; great-grandchildren, Kiralynn, Kellen, and Kalvin Lakowske; sister, Dotty Pohl, niece, Terri (Gary) Oswald; great-niece, Katie (Jason) Opper, and their children Gavin and Taylor Opper; and sister-in-law, Betty Brockman.

A Graveside Memorial Service was held at 12 pm on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Chaplain Priscilla Hemmersbach officiating.
