Arnold "Arnie" T. Gallup

Arnold “Arnie” T. Gallup, 75 of Sparta, died Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Tomah VA Medical Center, Tomah. He was born on July 13, 1949 to Glenn and Doris (Fleming) Gallup. He grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School.

After graduation, Arnie joined the US Navy as a cook on a Fleet Oiler and spent much of his time aboard ship during his service. 

After his military service, Arnie worked different trucking jobs in both Wisconsin and Texas.

Arnie survived by his siblings, George Gallup of Sparta, Donna Dinger of Sparta, Patricia Scott of Sandusky, OH, and Kenneth (Wanda) Gallup of Holden, MO; brother-in-law, Ray Hays of Sparta; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Karen and Kathy and his son, Greg.

A service with military honors, provided by VFW Post 2112 and American Legion Post 100, both of Sparta, will be held at 10am, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta.
