Audrey C. Zimmer

Audrey C. (Lee) Zimmer, 88, of Mondovi, formerly of Lookout, WI, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Rolling Hills, Sparta. She was born on March 20, 1934 to Obert and Merle (Crocker) Lee in the Township of Dover, WI.

Audrey graduated from Gilmanton High School and attended Technical College in Eau Claire until she started working for Ed Phillips and Sons as an office worker and IBM operator. She married Alfred Zimmer on September 10, 1960 in South Milwaukee, WI. She worked at Ladish CO. in Cudahy, WI for 2 years. They moved to Lookout in 1972 and took over the “Lookout Store”, formerly owned by her parents. In 1979 she went back to Vocational School and became a Nursing Assistant at the American Luthern Home in Mondovi until retiring in 1997. They moved to Mondovi in 2003.

Audrey enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed watching golf (Tiger Woods), and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Audrey is survived by her children, Dan (Gert) Zimmer of West Salem, Susan A. (Eric) Matson of Knoxville, TN, Patti (Stephen) Connelly of Cornell, Ken (Carrie) Zimmer of Sparta, and Jerry Zimmer of Winona, MN; 8 grandchildren, Jon, Eric, and Nick Scafe, Elizabeth Brueggeman, Kyle Connelly, James and Aidan Bollom, and Sarah Papenfuss; and 9 great-grandchildren, Addalyn, Braylee, Lyle, Braxton, Hattie, Chris, Joe, Bella, and Sebastian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; sister, Joan Koch; brothers, Mark and Allen Lee; and grandson, Matthew Matson.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Gilmanton Cemetery in Gilmanton, WI.
