Bonnie J. Jandt

Bonnie Jandt, 90, formerly of Sparta, died at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, WI on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. She was born to Edward A. and Matilda “Tillie” (Betts) Meyer on December 13, 1931, in Bangor, WI. She graduated from Bangor High School in 1949.

Bonnie married Bernard (Bud) Jandt on April 8, 1950 in Bangor, at the Meyer Family Home. She worked at the Mill Pond Tavern in Cataract and Wayside Tavern in Sparta for several years. She also worked for Arthur Overgaard (now Mathy Co.) for 22 years, until her retirement in 1999.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Diane (Ron) Jenkins of Sparta; grandson, Scott (Dana Coleman) Jenkins of Sparta; granddaughter, Amy (Tate Barwald) Jenkins of Tomah; great-grandson, Sheldon (Mirissa Speicher) Jenkins of Sparta; brother, Ronnie (Carol) Meyer of Sparta; sister, Charlotte (Gordy) Pfaff of Bangor; and very special friends, Lyn Creviston of Sparta, Sara Speicher of Sparta, and Shirley Baldwin of Sparta.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bernard; parents, Edward and Tillie Meyer; siblings, Virginia Meyer, Robert (Evelyn) Meyer, Bernard (Marion) Meyer, Richard (Hazel) Meyer; Carol (LeRoy) Garbers, and Edward “Doc” (Bernice) Meyer.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Chaplain Priscilla Hemmersbach officiating. Burial will be at Leon Cemetery.
