Bonnie J Stockel

Bonnie J. (Fryseth) Stockel, 71, of Sparta, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 in Onalaska. She was born on June 8, 1952 to Raymond and Jenny (Olson) Fryseth in La Crosse. She grew up and went to school in La Crosse.

Bonnie married Thomas D Stockel on April 24, 1971 in Sparta. They went on to raise their family in Sparta.

Bonnie held many places of employment; Spartek, Northern Engraving, McDonald’s, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Webster Lumber, where she made many friends.

Bonnie enjoyed going to the casino, playing BINGO, family trips, daily visits to the YMCA to swim in the pool with family and friends; and her dogs, Buddy and Buster.

She will be remembered for many things, but especially for that smile that lit up her beautiful face and the entire room she was in if not the whole world!

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Tom Stockel; children, Stacy (Stockel) Woolsey of Onalaska, and Steven Stockel of Sparta; brother, Tom Fryseth of La Crosse; brothers-in-law, Frank, Don, Alan, and Vince Stockel of Sparta, Russel Stockel of Onalaska, and Rod Stockel of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law, LaVonne (Joe) Rivers of Sparta, Kay Austin of Leon, and Mary Stockel of Onalaska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Jenny Fryseth; son, Christopher Stockel; sister, Sue Fryseth; nephew, Matthew Fryseth; brother-in-law, Dale Stockel; and sister-in-law, Virginia Wiblin.

No services will be held at this time.

The family is extremely grateful and thankful for all the kindness, compassion & love that was shown to Bonnie whether near or far. In particular we wish to give our sincere appreciation to Mayo Clinic La Crosse Radiation/Oncology, Mayo Onalaska Physical Therapy, & Mayo Hospice for all their care during this time.
