Boyd E. Dow

Boyd E. Dow, 74, of Burns, died Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1949 to Ellsworth and Betty (Olson) Dow. He grew up in Burns and graduated from Bangor High School in 1967.

Boyd attended WTC for two years for machine tool operations and graduated in 1969. He then served in the US Navy from 1969 until 1973. He was stationed on the aircraft carrier, USS America.

Boyd married Cheryl Schlaeger on June 27, 1971. He worked for Trane Company for 37 years as a machinist. He loved gardening and football.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Carmen Dow; grandson, Justin Dow; brother, Joel Dow; nephew, Jason Dow; favorite uncle, Bob and his family; his little buddy, Hannah; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie Dow; brother, Darrell Dow; and niece, Kim Riley.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
