Carol E. Jepson

     Carol E. Jepson, 84, of Sparta, died Saturday, April 24, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She was born December 9, 1936, in Sparta, to Carl and Norva (Richards) Schedler.

     She married Clarence Jepson in June of 1955. Clarence and Carol moved to Janesville, WI where Debra and Jeff were born. In 1969, they moved to Adams Valley, Bangor, WI, where Tammie and Chris were added to the family. They farmed there until 1991 when they moved to the Jepson family home in Sparta.

     Carol held many roles in her life, but her favorite role was being a grandma. She loved spending time with the grandchildren, watching and playing games with them. She also loved playing dominos at Culvers with a very special group of people.

     Carol is survived by her daughters, Debra Erickson, Tammie (Joseph) Lazzaretti, and Chris Jepson; daughter-in-law Pamela Jepson; grandchildren Jeffrey (Jennifer) Erickson, Michelle (Brian) Ellis, Scott Erickson, Jesse (Sidney Homan) Jepson, Broedy Jepson, Mikaela Jepson, Andrew Jansen, Zachary Lazzaretti, and Michael Lazzaretti; seven great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; special grandpups Wesley and Chester; special cousins Ted and Bergene Wilcox; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, son Jeffery, sister Mary Jepson, nephew Robert Jepson; brother-in-laws Vernon, Earl, Wilbur, and Harold Jepson; sister-in-laws Doris Hanssen and Ellen Russell, and special friend, Eileen Arndt.

     The family would like to thank all our family and friends that have visited, called, or reached out to us during this time. We would also like to thank Pastor Riediger and the Gundersen Health Hospice Team for all their help. Carol was a great wife, mother, grandma, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.

     A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Bangor, with Reverend Galen Riediger officiating. Burial will be in Burns Cemetery, rural Bangor.

     Family and friends are invited to call from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
