Carol J. Tracy

Carol Jean Tracy, 63, of West Salem and formerly of Sparta, passed away peacefully Monday, January 27, 2020. She was born May 29, 1956, in Sparta to Raymond and Adeline (Geier) Donskey.

Carol grew up in the Sparta area and graduated from Sparta High School with the class of 1974. She married Richard Tracy on April 6, 1974, at Summit Ridge. Following high school she worked for Monroe County Extension office in Sparta.

Carol’s passion was her family; nothing was more important to her. Even in her passing, Carol will always be the love of her family’s life. She treasured many family vacations to the Barber Lake cabin, every moment with her three children and of course the love of her life of nearly 50 years, Richard. Carol’s smile shined the brightest for her five grandchildren, the mention of her great-grandson on the way and of course her dogs. The Tracy household was never short on many laughs and cherished memories; all centered around our beautiful Carol. Even now as before, she continues to be an inspiration to everyone that knew her; a wife of grace, a fearless mother, a gentle sister and a compassionate grandmother.

As we say goodbye, it is comforting to know that one thing will never change; that her love for us is forever as ours is for her. We love you forever.

Carol is survived by the love of her life, Richard Tracy; her three children, Jennifer (Chad) Holm, Bethany Birdd (Travis Blockhus) and Brian (Kirstin) Tracy; five grandchildren, Kate and Madeline Holm, Jordan (Grace), Kayla and Jessalyn Birdd. She is further survived by eight siblings and her extended brothers and sisters of the Tracy family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Adeline Donskey; her father and mother in law, Harold (Delores) Tracy.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Visitation for Carol will be Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass. Online Condolences may be offered to the Tracy family at www.schanhoferfh.com.
