Charles E. Evans

Charles E. Evans, 85, of Sparta passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at RBI Cares, in Bangor. He was born on July 31, 1940 to Dewey and Josephine (Clark) Evans in Sparta. He grew up in Sparta.

Charles worked for Sparta Bottling, Greg Hardie, Owens Pool Hall, and Sparta VFW. He enjoyed watching John Wayne westerns, and Law & Order on TV, listening to country music. He loved going on Sunday rides with Dick Owens, and stopping to eat.

Charles is survived by his siblings, John Evans, Mike Evans, Lou Ann Evans, Ken Evans, Joe Evans, Sharon Belky, and Judy Erickson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Tom Evans, Dennis Evans, Mary Evans, David Evans, and Richard Evans.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice La Crosse, Mulder Healthcare, West Salem, and RBI Caring Hearts in Bangor for all of their care and support during the last year of Charlie’s life.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

A Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.
