Darlene E. Guinn, 89, of Sparta, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, in Sparta. She was born on July 24, 1935 to Willard Victor and Evelyn (Berry) Rugg, in Cataract, WI.
Darlene is survived by her children, Cheryl Guinn~Endres (Darren), Rodney Thurston, Kevin (Roxy) Thurston, Jeanne (Daniel) Davis, Scott (Debra) Thurston; grandchildren, Collin (Nicole) Endres, Caden Endres, Elizabeth (Kris) Strandell, Benjamin (Ashley) Thurston, Daron Thurston, Anna (Andy) Schultz, Guthrie (Kay) Thurston, Melissa (Mathew) Deal, Sara (Christopher) Angle, Heidi (Nicholas) Kocken, Richard (Brittany) Thurston, Amanda Thurston, Jennifer Thurston; sister, Carol (Dennis) Leis, Brother Kenny Rugg; brother in law, Donald Guinn; niece, Erica Guinn; sisters in law, Donna Rugg, Verna (Benier) Rugg and Glenda Rugg; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; her beloved dog, Daisy Mae, and her nieces and nephews, camping family and friends.
She was preceded death by her husband, James R. Guinn, sisters in law, Linda McRaff, Elsie Jones, and Olga Guinn, brothers, Donald Rugg, Alan, Rugg, and Gale Rugg, nephews, Jeffery Rugg and Michael Little; brother in law, Harvey Leis, parents, Willard Victor Rugg and Evelyn Berry Rugg, great grandchild, Brady Angle; and daughter in law, Valerie Thurston.
A Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta.
