Darlene "Dottie" Pohl

Darlene “Dotty” Pohl, 96, of Sparta passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born on April 19, 1929, in Sparta, to Samuel and Electa (Shaw) Brockman. She grew up on a farm in the Rockland area.

Dotty married Wallace Pohl on July 26, 1950. They were married for 71 years, and raised 2 children.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally Pohl; 3 brothers, Otto Brockman, John Brockman, and Samuel Brockman; sister, Ardel Lakowske; and son, Brian Pohl.

Dotty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terri (Gary) Oswald; 2 granddaughters, Katie (Jason) Opper, and Kenzie Wriedt; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin and Taylor Opper.

Family and her faith were at the center of Dotty’s life; and she will be missed by her family and friends.

At her request, no services will be held. A private burial will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Spooner, WI; at a later date.
