David C. Walle

David C. Walle, age 76, of La Crosse and formerly of Cataract, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in La Crosse.

He was born on June 27, 1949, in Minnesota to Christopher and Grace (Enger) Walle. David attended the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School in Vinton, then continued his education at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and Luther Northwestern Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

In July of 1979, David married Ellen Ann Blinston at Cataract United Methodist Church. Together, they made their home in Cataract, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio, and New York before returning to La Crosse in 2018.

David dedicated his life to service and education as a music teacher, pastor, and chaplain. He had a deep love for music and a passion for traveling.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen of La Crosse; and brother-in-law, Roger Blinston of Bangor.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in Cataract Cemetery with Reverend Randy Williamson officiating.
