Doris B. Gallup

Doris B. Gallup, 99, of Sparta, died Monday, January 17, 2022, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, in La Crosse. She was born November 10, 1922, to Russell and Marguerite (Laedeke) Fleming.

She grew up in La Crosse and Madison. She was a telephone operator before enlisting in the US Marine Corps.  She was stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA, from 1943-1944. After she left the service, she lived in Madison, WI. She married Glenn Gallup.  They moved to La Crosse and later settled in Sparta. She worked at Ft. McCoy as a telephone operator until 1989. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Doris is survived by her children, George Gallup of Sparta, Donna Dinger of Sparta, Arnold Gallup of Tomah, Patricia Scott of Sandusky, OH, Kenneth (Wanda) Gallup of Holden, MO, Kathy (Ray) Hays of Sparta; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; daughter, Karen; brothers, Thomas and Russell; and sister, Marge.
